چکیده

Abstract Seismic interferometry (SI) can be used to reconstruct a pseudo-acquisition from response of passive source, while the reconstructed data recover portion model space that is different recovered by inversion original measurements. The SI crosscorrelation requiring seismic wave field evenly distributed, which limits scope application this method. multi-dimensional deconvolution (MDD) broken through limitation must but there are still some limitations in special practices. Interferometric point-spread function (PSF), like correlation function, necessary condition MDD method, practices it cannot derived data. A new method proposed paper free PSF, and theoretically proved equivalent usual MDD. We demonstrate effectiveness with two numerical examples one-sided illumination, source blurring phenomenon results effectively eliminated. first example far-field one-side also treated MDD, comparison shows methods equally effective. second near-field only because PSF obtained.

Green’s function representation for seismic interferometry by deconvolution

Despite the strength of seismic interferometry to retrieve new seismic responses by crosscorrelating observations at different receiver locations, the method relies on a number of assumptions which are not always fulfilled in practice. Some practical circumstances that may hamper interferometry by crosscorrelation are: one-sided illumination, irregular source distribution, varying source spectr...

Seismic Interferometry by Deconvolution: Theory and Examples

Seismic interferometry is a field of growing interest in exploration seismology. In this paper we provide the theoretical basis for performing interferometry by deconvolution. We argue that for arbitrarily complicated models, deconvolution interferometry gives the causal scattering response between any two receivers. Interferometry by cross-correlation, on the other hand, gives both causal and ...

Improved surface‐wave retrieval from ambient seismic noise by multi‐dimensional deconvolution

[1] The methodology of surface‐wave retrieval from ambient seismic noise by crosscorrelation relies on the assumption that the noise field is equipartitioned. Deviations from equipartitioning degrade the accuracy of the retrieved surface‐wave Green’s function. A point‐spread function, derived from the same ambient noise field, quantifies the smearing in space and time of the virtual source of t...

Body-wave interferometry using multi-dimensional deconvolution after wavefield decomposition at free surface

Passive seismic methods using earthquakes can be applied for extracting body waves and obtaining information of subsurface structure. To analyze earthquake data, one traditionally uses receiver functions, tomography, and seismic interferometry. In this study, we retrieve reflected body waves by applying seismic interferometry to the recorded ground motion from a cluster of earthquakes. We emplo...
